The W.Y.S.E. Experience FAQ’s

Q) How much does the program cost?
A) The mentorship program is tuition-free thanks to the generosity of our community sponsors. A registration fee is required after acceptance to reserve your child’s place in the program.

Q) Is the registration fee refundable?
A) Please refer to our Refund & Cancellation Policy for complete details regarding registration fees, withdrawals, and program cancellations.

Q) Does submitting an application guarantee acceptance?
A) No. Because enrollment is limited, all applications are reviewed before participants are selected.

A) Yes. Participants are expected to attend each scheduled session unless an emergency or approved absence occurs. Consistent attendance is an important part of the mentorship experience.

Q) What happens if my son has behavioral issues?
A) Our goal is to mentor—not discipline. Every participant will be treated with respect and given opportunities to learn and grow. However, repeated unsafe, disruptive, or disrespectful behavior may result in dismissal from the program if it interferes with the experience of others.

Q) Will meals or snacks be provided?
A) Snacks and refreshments may be provided during program sessions. Families will be notified in advance of any special events involving meals. Please notify a staff member if your child has food allergies.

Q) Will photos or videos be taken?
A) Yes. Photos and videos may be captured during program activities to celebrate participants and share the impact of the program and for promotional and advertising.

Q) What should participants bring?
A) Participants should arrive on time, dressed appropriately, and ready to participate with a positive attitude. Any additional materials or supplies will be communicated before the program begins.

Q) How can I support The W.Y.S.E. Experience if my child is not participating?
A) Community members can support the mission by becoming a sponsor, making a donation, purchasing books or merchandise, or sharing our mission with others. All forms of support are greatly appreciated!

Q) Why is this program specifically designed for boys from single-mother households?
A) The W.Y.S.E. Experience was created to support families by providing positive male mentorship during some of the most formative years of a young man’s life. Our goal is not to replace mothers or undermine their efforts, but to reinforce the values being taught at home, encourage personal responsibility, and help young men develop the confidence, discipline, and leadership skills needed to succeed. We believe that when families and mentors work together, boys are better equipped to become strong, respectful, and purpose-driven men.
